This modest sporting fieldhouse was the first project that Parks, Recreation, and Forestry built under the new City of Toronto Green Building Standards. The limited budget demanded creativity in order to produce a robust and attractive public building.

As project architect for Taylor_Smyth Architects, Daniel Hall undertook detailed research into green materials that could meet the durability requirements for an open, un-staffed public skate changing and meeting space. Much of this knowledge has proven useful on subsequent projects.
