Architect/Senior Designer:

The role: 

Project related work [75%] 

  • Lead the design and completion of construction documents for a variety of projects 
  • Ensure that TABC’s high standards of work and service are met 
  • Client engagement & communications 
  • Coordinate the work of junior team members 
  • Consultant coordination 
  • Construction phase quality assurance 

Management role [25%] 

  • Track and maintain project deliverables & budgets 
  • Mentor & train junior colleagues 
  • Actively participate in management and direction of the practice through a structured set of committees related to project delivery and business development 
  • Full-time permanent position with opportunities to grow with the firm 

Your Qualifications: 

  • A passion and understanding for green design 
  • 8+ years professional experience in a design, technical, or management role 
  • Experience managing small teams to deliver projects on schedule 
  • Familiarity with our allied Consulting disciplines 
  • Interest in training and mentoring junior staff 
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities 
  • A professional degree in Architecture or Design 
  • A member of the OAA or ARIDO [Interning or Licensed] 
  • Particular strength in one of our core areas: Interiors, Adaptive Reuse, Low Carbon design, Supportive Housing 
  • Interest in expanding reach of the practice into the social justice sector such as supportive housing and accessibility. 
  • 5+ years experience with Part 9 of the OBC and local planning approvals 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A commitment to your own professional growth 
  • Pets not required but highly desirable

Communications Manager:

The role: 

Planning [25%] 

  • Take an active role on our Marketing Committee to develop long term marketing strategies and identify opportunities 
  • Plan marketing campaigns for specific target markets or type of work 
  • Propose improvements to website and social media platforms 
  • Develop media contacts and opportunities 

Implementation [75%] 

  • Maintain and update the company website and social media outlets 
  • Develop new content for the website and social media 
  • Organize and promote webinars and presentations on a variety of topics related to green design 
  • Lead preparation of submissions to RFP’s for selected projects 
  • Supervise the development of guides for Client use on a variety of topics 
  • Maintain the CRM and mailing lists 

Your Qualifications: 

  • A passion and understanding for marketing with a focus on website and social media 
  • 3+ years professional experience in a marketing or graphic design role 
  • Related post-secondary education 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines 
  • Experience working with some or all of the following software tools 
  • WordPress 
  • Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Microsoft Office 
  • i-movie or Final Cut Pro 
  • A commitment to your own professional growth
